I love Randy and Ally

They have agreed to help me out with selling bracelets at lunch because I won't be attending school tomorrow. Randy is going to help me today too! I love them <3

Checking in from afar

I am about a 3 today, but I feel like everyone is about a 3 today. It's not a bad day, but it's not a good day. This vanilla chai is bringing me up, but the blogging process is bringing me down. But the fact that Nate is coming home tomorrow makes me like a 10980897603876. But the fact that he isn't home today brings me back to like a 3. So, yeah, I am a 3 today.

WHERE IS ALL THE TIME GOING?

I don't know about you, but I am stressing out! I need to start working on my presentation. More importantly, I need to finish my product! AHHHHHHHHHH!

We have a date!

Day of Awareness, January 14, 2013! Everybody, wear purple!

Delay

Considering the tragedies over the weekend with Newtown, CT, my e-mails and fundraiser have been delayed. They should be sent out today. Hopefully that gives the teachers enough time... :(

Bracelets

I have 200 bracelets that I desperately need to sell. The t-shirts are not going to be making any money, so I am highly relying on the bracelets and stickers.

Special Tees vs G&G

I am now using G&G because they can have it done by the time I need them. Special Tees is unreliable, and takes too much time.

CAD problem

They made the design, but it was not what I had envisioned, so now it is just a purple ribbon. $2!!

Hi, my name is Haylee Christian and I am really bad at Senior Project. I am about to be going on a blogging rampage, apologies.

impatience

Ok, so I only sent the e-mail to Special Tees today... but thinking about how much time I have left is freaking me out a little bit. I need to make the call, tonight. Just so they are aware that I am reaching out to them. Maybe they just haven't read it yet. Hopefully they are still open..

I think this is what I am going to say:

Hi, my name is Haylee Christian.
I sent an e-mail earlier today regarding a fundraiser I am hosting at Plymouth South High School for my Senior Project. I wanted to just confirm that you got my e-mail about the fundraiser and how I'd love if your company was a part of it! In case you have not received it or have not opened it yet, the goal of the fundraiser is to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease. I'd like to use your company to make t-shirts for the fundraiser. All the profits of the t-shirts will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association, in hopes to further continue research on the disease and come that much closer to finding a cure. In exchange for any donations or discounts your company may be willing to provide for the t-shirts, you can put your companies logo on the shirts as advertisment. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would be on board with the production of the t-shirts! You can reach me on my cell phone (15084795051) or through e-mail. I'd love to hear back from you soon, thanks!

Yep, I just did it. That was the exact thing I said. So, hopefully that sounded good enough..

Ball is rolling a little too fast

I heard back from Mrs. Fry a little later than expected and because of that, my fundraiser is a little late.

But, I have reached out to Special Tees by finally pressing send through e-mail. Now, I must simply twittle my thumbs and pray to God that they get back to me by like, oh, I don't know, now?!

CAD is on board! I need to meet up with Mr. Murphy and Mr. Hart after school tomorrow to get the design to put on my order forms.

Bracelets are ordered. I am assuming that they will arrive on my doorstep in about 2ish weeks.

E-mails are still in the making. I have everything drafted, I just can't send anything out without hearing back from Special Tees.

Order forms are still in the making also. That is also drafted, I just can't send those out without the pictures.

So basically, if Special Tees answers me back, all will be good in the world.

Wow. This was a long post.

Wow :')

I got a 100% on my paper.

A 100%!!!!!!!

Mrs. Hall told me that she even had her mother read my paper, and her mothers reaction to my paper was tears. I guess she was really moved by my paper. I guess I am really moved by her reaction.

I couldn't be any prouder. Is prouder a word? Well it is now.

Number 4

Hi again.
I'm on a blogging rampage.

Now, I'm going to talk about my goals for the week.
1. Buy more sheets for my binder. I ran out.
2. Get the paperwork all filled out and ready before I go to Florida.
3. Do my presentation on November 16, and kill it.
4. Do what I am doing now, and keep blogging.

My boyfriend told me to set goals and execute. I feel like it really applies here.

Basically, meet deadlines and do well. Yes.
Done.

Number 3

In case you don't know, for my product, I am making t-shirts, bracelets, and stickers. I will donate all my profits to an Alzheimer's organization in hopes of finding a cure or continuing research. This will make me feel like I have helped with the undiscovered research.

Number 2

I made the call! I have my product all set up at Special Tees. Now I am just waiting for the paperwork to go through in the school so I can actually have the fundraiser. BOOOOOOOOOOYAH! How cool.

Oh, I guess not.

I forgot to blog.. so here I go:
I have my hours scheduled! I have to wait until after I come home from Florida, though. I kind of can't wait, how exciting!

I think I am ahead of schedule..

Time to make the call. I can picture it now:
*ring, ring*
"Hello, this is Special Tees. How can I help you?"
"Hi, my name is Haylee. I would like to create some shirts using a design I made for Alzheimer's disease."
"No."
*hangs up*
*i'm bawling my eyes out*

UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!

About to rip someones head off..

Why can't computers wait to crash after you press the save button?! R.I.P. those 5 pages I wrote up until the wee hours this morning. Sadly, you've been forgotten... In my personal opinion, I think this is a sign from God that I should not be participating in Senior Project, and definitely should not be writing 10 page papers.

I have about 5-7 pages of words to write in 4 days. It's safe to say, I'm bummin'.

DING DING DING

The little bell just went off in my head, finally!

I know how I am going to structure this project. During my mentor hours, I will not only be studying Alzheimer's patients, but my mentor herself. She is a caregiver, and that is a huge role in my research. She will be able to provide me with first hand information on questions such as: a day in the life, what kind of stress, certain qualities, etc. What she will need to help me with is the support group aspect of my project. Maybe I will talk with families that come through the home, and make a questionaire? Decisions, decisions.

Writing my draft

I have organized my essay into 3 sections: Alzheimer's, Caregivers, Support Groups. I plan on 2 1/2 pages for each, an intro and a conclusion. That should be good, right?

Mr. Izzo is SO COOL

We are having some technical difficulties with my mentor papers. I provided them with her nursing license instead of her drivers license. Whoops... Hopefully everything works out.

Mentor Day

I am meeting with my mentor today! But only to get my papers signed, not to start my hours. I plan on showing her my annotated bibliography, and get feedback from her. I want to talk to her about what to include in my research, what to exclude, and maybe what to add.

I still need to tweek my thesis and begin organizing my paper. My cover letter is all done because I am awesome.

And so it begins..

Out of my 3 goals for the week, I have only completed 1. My cover letter is completed! But.......... I still need my mentor papers, and to start my research paper. Mr. Lippa is introducing us to a research paper outline, this might be very useful. I anticipate meeting up with Eva to get those papers signed to, considering the fax machine is not running smoothly.

Progress

But not really...

After the annotation of 1,000,000 or so sites, I found basically all the same information about the disease. I also found basically all the same information about support groups. Because of this, I had a hard time coming up with a creative thesis that will allow me to uncover some super top secret about Alzheimer's. Yet, I won't give up.

First Post!

Hey, hey, hey! This is my super cool Senior Project blog! This is just going to be one big bundle of fun!

My name is Haylee Christian, senior at PSHS. Starting at this very minute, I fully anticipate on researching Alzheimer's disease and the effects it has on family life. My goal is to find the answers I have been seeking since my great grandmother passed away from the disease. I am very excited to uncover the mysteries of Alzheimer's, and understand the patients and families more than I do now, already.
